Northwestern Washington is home to two of the most famous cities in the Evergreen state; Seattle and Tacoma. While they’re only 40 miles away from each other, the two cities both offer a unique take on everything to experience in Washington.

Seattle

Seattle, Washington

Population: 652,405

Seattle is the largest city in the state of Washington and is situated on a narrow isthmus between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, about 100 south of the Canada-United States border. Since the technology-boom of the 1980’s, Seattle has developed a reputation for a tech-hub in the U.S. It is home to Amazon, Microsoft, and T-Mobile.

Tacoma

Tacoma, Washington

Population: 203,446

Tacoma is most famous for being home to Mount Rainer; the highest mountain of the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest. If you’re not an outdoorsy individual, Tacoma is also well-known for its cultural offerings. It is home to the Museum of Glass, which showcases glass art from Washington and around the world. It is also home to the Washington State History Museum and the Tacoma Art museum.
